I See Your Face In every single Christmas candle lit I see a vivid picture of your face Framed within the halo of a quivering flame Your eyes look back at me in warm embrace On every Christmas tree the little lights Remind me of the sparkle of your eye And gazing at the tree through watered tear I still can see our very last good-bye Another Christmas without you near Memory entreats another tear Within the lovely strains of cheeful song It's there your tender voice I often hear It tears my heartstrings into little shreds And silences the song I love so dear The sight of morning white upon the lawn A mesmerizing fire in the hearth A glass of wine that's poured and sent my way Tokens of another year apart Another Christmas without your love Countless seasons of wreath and dove The sight of mistletoe that hangs above the door Reminds me of a tender kiss many years ago But my heart is sudden filled with happiness As I recall how much I loved you so And deep inside my heart the pleasures swell In the thought I loved you long - and loved you well Elizabeth Santos |

Liz--This is so beautiful and full of your lasting love. The heart remembers. In the dew of little things, the heart finds its morning and is refreshed. (ee cummings) |

Elizabeth, I would say the last two lines says it all a lovely poem. |

Martie, Thank you very much Sy, Actually, that's the only part of the poem that was true, and even that is a thought that rarely comes to light. In fact, I don't know why I even wrote this thing! Just couldn't think of anything to write But thank you so much for your comments Liz |

Thanks, Denise, glad you like it, though it's not really true. Not since I was young, anyway. I'll call you one of these days. I drove my car for the first time today!!! That is one thing I have missed! Talk soon Liz |

Sometimes it's the candlelight, That brings you into view, And when it is, it is the time, I hold the real, shadowed you. HUGS< !signature--> Yesterday is but today's memory and tomorrow is today's dream... [This message has been edited by RainbowGirl (edited 12-15-1999).] |
