A sleepless night
fearing fraught
eyes opened to
expected loss
of dear friend love

and

you have wandered
far from any truth
London boy
for always I
shall be

loving you
just
for who you are

virtually flowered
is my heart
and precious is
the imagined scent
I'd not exchange
them for perfumed roses
or petals
to swiftly fade

your pain I've felt
your heart mine own
has touched

I'd not let a bond
slip idly away
beneath foreign skies
not let
our unheard voices
die
so silently

Trust me

That is all I beg

***

...for my dear friend Stephen
who has known much hurt
and little trust at this time...

'Tis a marvelous and beautiful tribute my friend, an honor to both the writer and receipient.

Now and forever, my heart hears ~one voice~.

This is very moving Severn - I am quite touched by it. You have some beautiful lines in there!  -  You have a wonderfully caring heart, and it shows. Any ex-pat (of whatever age,) in some corner of a foreign field, would feel closer to home in the warmth of your comforting words.

Severn
A delicate and beautifully structured art work. You have a precision and manner that, I'm sure, would move any one so honoured to tears. Your London Boy must, I'm certain, consider himself to be blessed indeed. Would that we all could use our language thus.

Severn,
Your words always warm my heart,
That is the sentimental part.
This one is a keeper. *L*

I echo all of the above statements. It is a beautiful piece of work, Severn.

You do have the words at the tip of your pen to express what's in your heart, and that is one of the reasons your poetry is so exquisite. The other reason is that you've got poet genes. A natural talent. I am every time amazed and I think your London friend is very fortunate to have someone that he can trust

Your words always move me Severn--it seems that beauty touched down for just a moment on the page--then left me in awe.

the heart finds its morning
and is refreshed.

Beautifully done, Severn....words like silk that flow like wine. You are such a wonderful poet! I need a book of your poetry, and Rainbow Girl's fireplace, my Bocelli CD's, a nice soft blanket, candles and a bottle of champagne and I'd be all set!

Truly Kamla your heart overflows with love and your poetry expresses it better than a hug ever could - I'm sure these words (so wonderful, i'm so jealous!) will comfort him and to know that he can trust in you - i'd definitely vouch for your trustworthiness!!!
If i were this page, i'd be so honoured to have been graced by these words.
