This was written in response to Ron's announcement about the inclusion of Passions in Poetry in the book Idiot's Guide to Dating and Relating on the Internet!(See the Announcement and Link Forum for full details!) My heart soars without hearing your voice I try holding back, but have no choice You won my soul with a passion's flame Because of you, I'll never be the same I smile as you approve my verse Deeper I sink into Cupid’s curse And though you think my words a game I continue to write them just the same. Gently chiding you beckon me ICQ messages set words free Fingers that dare to say the word The only one you've not yet heard Silence speaks a world of feeling Cursor blinks as my head is reeling Thoughts and words I’ll not repent This is love on the Internet I think I'll just post this over there in the review an comments section! Drum up some excitement! [This message has been edited by Poet deVine (edited 12-10-1999).] |

This is great! I could feel the tension! But I am so glad that I don't have to deal with it! hehehehe... Seems to me one needs so much faith in a relationship like that, more so than in a non-cyber romance. I wish them all well! Again, great poem, Sharon. Denise |

Faith indeed, to say the least! Whew....!! Tis quite a challenge, though certainly worth every gut-wrenching moment! ROFL PdV...this is really a nice little ditty you have here! Of course, you know I'M gonna like it! It's right down my alley..... I am a firm believer that true love can bloom online - more easily so, than in the real world...you get to "know" the person for who they are, not what they "look and feel" like. - - - If I can just touch you once, then I feel I have accomplished what I am called to do...- - pFF |

I am more than suitably impressed by your skill with words Lady deVine. Excellent work. Now and forever, my heart hears ~one voice~. Bingo!...Yep, this is perfect, PdV. I tell you what, if I could have have reached through the monitor to squeeze that word from Femme I'd done it. Boy, she was tough early on, but when I finally did hear it - what a feeling. Great piece Michael |

Well done, Ms. deVine. Love on the net? That's complex to say the least. It does have one advantage...you grow to know the person from the inside, before the outside. How wondeful is that???!! |

Thank you all for your kind words. I knew you all would appreciate the uniqueness of this kind of relationship! I've posted the poem as a 'review' of the book on Amazon.com. Let's hope they allow it as it's not really a review! I'm going to scour the bookstores this weekend (any excuse to get inside a bookstore works for me!) to see if I can find it. |

The emotions we experience are one and the same - on or offline........ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ With passion born of words alone, A kindled bond's aforesaid rare. When love from inside out has grown, Erotic nuance ne'er outshone. Clandestine musings freely share, With passion born of words alone. Allure endued as pheromone, In spirit lustful hearts declare When love from inside out has grown. With bated breath a bond has sown Intrinsic trust beyond compare With passion born of words alone. True intimacy's surely known. No greater love ~ No small affair When love from inside out has grown. An ecstasy as yet unknown Enjoins a once unseemly pair With passion born of words alone, When love from inside out has grown. |

Tell you what we oughta do. We ought to check to see how many of the internet romances are together in one year in comparison to the one night stands that come from face to face contact. I believe the internet romances would win hands down, don't you. Especially in this poetry forum where out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. I would put "Love on the Internet" up against "Sex on the Ground" anyday. HeHe! < !signature--> Shine a light and darkness disappears. Poet deVine I like this very much. I also agree with PoetFemmeFatale it does let you see the inside of a person, but you must have a lot of faith and trust also. A "double dose" of faith as they say helps. B Gravitt |

Love? Or is it just Lust? C'mon PDV...which is it? Femme knows that both can blossom on the internet...but only love is worthwhile. |

RSEvans! Do you think love isn't possible unless you see someone's face? Hear their voice? As I've said, my son met his wife in a chat room, after 2 months of talking they met in person and confirmed their feelings....they are very happy and very well matched. |

Love is love is love is love No matter the kind you're speaking of No matter where or when you met Face to face or on the net It's grand to look into his face To know his gestures, smile and grace To hear his voice and laugh along To feel his touch and hear his song But if you meet him on the net The image can be clearer yet You see not face or mouth or eyes But inner self he can't disguise And if some day you chance to meet The love, then, is a love complete It is by far a better place To love his being before his face And if he loves you not the same It matters not, you're just a name Just a casual passer-by And he will never see you cry And if you're subject to some scoff Just click your mouse and turn him off!
