Today was a bad day for me But not as bad as for you Today we told you he's dying And there is nothing that we can do. He just hasn't been feeling good But his doctor told him he's ok He wanted a second opinion So you decided to send him our way. The doctor had done a short exam And "masses" he could easily feel He ordered a CT scan for your husband Surely your mind was spinning like a wheel. You both came into the office today To get all of his test results I wanted so badly to give you a hug And tell you its no ones' fault. As I led you to wait in an examining room If only I could have said Enjoy the next 5 mintues of life For the rest will be spent in dread. The doc went in to talk to you both And you both came out with heads high Knowing that he had inoperable cancer Knowing within months he will die. You were on my mind when I awoke today You'll be on it when I fall asleep Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers And in my heart, your family I will keep. I can not imagine the pain you now have Please know that I'm here for you As only your nurse, theres' not much to say But just ask and if I can, I will do. Please treasure each moment you have And live your life together as free For when God takes him home to stay You will know it was meant to be. ------------------ Spoongirl28 The time to live is now...... |

Very sad. There is so much suffering around. Sometimes all we can do is sympathize. Great poem. ------------------ Denise |

Very nice read ma'am....Isn't it wonderful they have each other? Isn't it wonderful they have at least some time to share and prepare? Isn't it wonderful they have someone like you to think about them and care? |
