+ + + Fields Of The Heart + + + ~Marge Tindal~ 1999 Poppies, poppies everywhere. I bought one that I must wear. Wearing it proudly in my lapel, to remind me of the soldier who fell. He fell so that I might forever live free. Gave his life in Victory. Surely he knows from his vantage above ... today I remember him with love. Poppies blowing in the wind, reminding me of a long lost friend. The soldier of the field in quiet repose, surely he's aware of the poppy that grows. In Flanders field and around the earth ... adorning the soldier who gave freedom her birth. Freedom's fought and paid for with too many who now sleep. I remember them in my heart ... and my heart does weep. + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + ------------------ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Very beautiful poem. Very heartfelt and true, so sad and glorious at the same time what they did for us. I, too, have lost ones due to this. They are forever remembered heros, every last one. The ones who have passed on, and the ones who remain to enjoy what they helped give birth to. ------------------ Life is what you make of it... Not what you let it be |
