Out Of The Noise Of Noon
~Marge Tindal~ 1999

So many sounds
surround me.
Bells ringing,
horns blowing,
tires screeching,
people chatting.
A time
for quiet serenity
seeks audience with me.

I retreat
to the meadow
of my mind.

Alone in a crowd.
I sit quietly
in the meadow,
flying kites
in my mind.

Wind wafting
gently
lifting the kites
to great heights.
I let the burdens
of the day
follow their rise.
Dancing
in the wind,
far above
the worldly cares.

Letting go
of the strains
of the day.
I slowly reel
the kite back in.

Serenity is mine.

The crowd
watches
in wonder
as I pick up my kite
and return
to their world.

Serenity is mine.

Wonder-full!  Nothing better than imagination to calm down, relax.  Cheaper, easier, and not at all toxic!
Let's all do that, like when we're waiting for the bus or the lights or anytime we need it.
Inspirational poem, Marge.( -can't help but rhapsodise on this subject!!)

Marge, next time someone tells me to go fly a kite, I think I will do it your way. Lovely.

This is wonderfully expressed, Marge, and definitely the secret to inner serenity in this clock-spinning world. Regardless of how frantic the world may become, you are out standing in your field!

Well, my goodness ... this sure was a
crowd-pleaser now wasn't it.
The truth is ... I'm a great kite flyer.
There truly is something that pulls the tension out as the kite soars.
The fact that I enjoy it so much is what made this poem a reality.
And when things don't go just right in my inside world ... I do retreat to the
'meadow of my mind.'

Denise - Thank you, my friend.

Severn - Come on over ... winds blowing.

SeaAngel - It really works ... promise me
you will remember and try it.

OhMe - Warning ... it's addictive.

Martie - Join me in that peace, my friend.

Balladeer - I retreat to the meadow quite
often.  Serenity is mine.

RainbowGirl - That's the secret.

LostDreamer - Why, thank you.

Hoot -  You'll love it.  Join me, please !

Nan -
Serenity is such a calming of the soul.
The place of renewal ... if only for the moment. Visit often.
