We were so close yet so far apart
You gave me everything except for your heart
Whenever you wanted me I was always there
But whenever I needed you, you didn't care.

I thought that maybe that was how it was meant to be
Until I realized and started to see
That maybe this wasn't right after all
And that's when I decided to stand up tall.

I should've stopped it sooner but I finally made it through
Even as I write this poem I know I'm over you
You made my very trusting heart break
Although now, it is free from ache.
