The clock
on the wall
says its 3am
but the fires of madness
yet burn
behind my eyes
I cannot seek dreams
to escape
the nightmare of reality
for febrile insanity
has stolen them
from me

Dysphoric mania
is both my right and due
for its heights descend
to the depths
of Hell's own Pit
latching hold
with addiction's claws
dragging me back
to the heights
of the Pit

I live
on this
bipolar mountanside
easier to fall
then it is to climb
yet depression's bottom
is the safest
place to be
surrounded
by comforting
misery

I have no place
in between
depression and mania
I live the extremes
there is no middle ground
to be found
that lasts
long enough
to offer compassion
or support.

Well - that answers my third question...

Dream - this is a dream: from a well written hell! Hope it isn't too hot for you to climb out of.
