Dying To Try It .. Or .. Trying To Diet
~Marge Tindal~ 1999

Scrumptious mounds
of chocolate
calling out to me.
Lots and lots
of chocolate
I'm dying to try it, you see.

Cakes, pies and goodies
all appeal to me.
I can't resist the stuff !
I'd can eat my weight
in chocolate eclairs,
I cannot get enough !

The Keebler Elf knows me
by my first name.
The Cookie Monster is
always tempting my wit.
My answer is always the same.
I'm dying to try it !

Well, as fate would have it,
the calories weren't withdrawn.
All the sweets that were my delight
are now upon my buns.

I'll try to think thin.
I'll try to get it right.
Instead of dying to try it ...
I'll be trying to diet !

Great poem, Marge. As my grandma used to say, "A waist is a terrible thing to mind."

Seymour - Who'da thunk it?

LostDreamer -
Well, I 'fudged'
a little on this one.
I'm one of those people you just
'love to hate'.
The 'icing on the cake' is
I eat and eat and eat
and never gain the weight.

Denise - Well, I'll share.

Hoot - I'm laughing too.

Martie - Lots and lots of it.
I like chocolate, dipped in chocolate.

OhMe - I'm also a member of
Chocolates Not So Anonymous.

Nan - Let me guess ...

Really
Outstanding
Triple
Fudge
Laden
Marshmallow
Addict's
Only

Balladeer - LOL ! 'Bout time you showed up for the chocolate feast.

Elizabeth, my friend -
'SWEET' ? 'SWEET' ?
Did somebody say 'SWEET' ?
Open the box of See's Candies !
Yummy !

Marge! I'm here, to say the least,
Let's begin the chocolate feast!
ALmond joys, Three Musketeers,
Snickers coming out our ears!
Hot fudge sundae - what a hit!
Chocolate on banana split!
Cover raisins....peanuts, too
Chocolate chips for me and you.
Chocolate ice cream! I declare!
Don't forget those great eclairs.
Hershey's chocolate....squeeze it out
Suck it from the bottle spout.
Lovers also have a way
To use chocolate in their love-play
Chocolate adds a great sensation
When one uses imagination!
I love chocolate...that's my message
Even on my vienna sausage!

Balladeer -

Chocolate on raisins
and little marshmallows,
makes for one
very happy fellow.

I like all the chocolate sensations
you mention ...
they make a fine delight.
But, tell me please, Balladeer
where I can get chocolate covered
vienna sausage?
I just can't get them here !

Between you and I ...
one of us is nuts !
And I think it may be me !

hehohe - I do anything for chocolate - ANYTHING!
I'll have to tell you my notorious chocolate-mints-that-weren't-mine-in-someone-else's-fridge story sometime!!
Love this, and like Hoot it was the title that had me laughing first.

Started smiling at the title... now between the poem and the responses, I'm indulging in some very unprofessional giggles! LOL. Great job!

Marge,
Chocolate mints reminds me of
My son,s quick whit last Christmas eve
My sister-in-law served chocolate mints
In clever wrappers well conceived
Religiously placed in sacred tin
Each wrapper from the Bible did hint
Of a simple verse of noted worth
And so they are called "Test-a-Mints"
Then son pipes up, if they're outdated
We'll assume them to be "Old Test-a-mints!"

Just thought I'd throw that in
Anyway,
Marge, YOU ARE A RIOT!
With tales of diet
Liz

Suthern - The only way your giggles would be unprofessional is if we don't pay you for them ... here's a box of chocolates! Thanks!

LostBoy -
Oh, dark chocolate hugging almonds ...
what a treat ! Now I've even got ME going !

Elizabeth, my friend -
Loved the story
set to rhyme ...
what a gift you hold.
In a tin
of chocolate covered rhymes ...
yours is so refreshing.
Yummy ! A treat.
