Delicious Sorrow I tried to grasp the sunset hour And hold the sun at mountain's edge To savor more the loveliness Of delicate light on field and hedge So sweet the final fleeting moment The subtle radiance it throws The way it touches child's face Like soft angelic halo's glow And now it's gone, the moment lost But oh, what a delicious sorrow! For now my heart sings better songs In wait of sun's tomorrow Elizabeth Santos [This message has been edited by Elizabeth Santos (edited 12-02-1999).] [This message has been edited by Elizabeth Santos (edited 12-02-1999).] |

Yes yes yes! This is just how I feel at the.. edge of sunset standing on the tip of surrender to a glimpse into the color of the Gods elusive so fragile a spear of light thrust straight into my soul I long to drink the ochred mauve and imbibe fired skies... there - first returned poem from a particularly feminine Severn. YOur work is lovely - I can see those colors. |

Wow! Oh wow. Blushing. Thankyou!!!! No - I won't post it - it's intertwined with your one now so it just has to stay there. Well - it's 12.30am where I am right now - weird to think most of the netpoets have all been asleep! |

An eloquent display To a lovely time of day. How sad we mourn the loss Of that which shall return But how happy you look forward Tommorrow's lesson learned. |

Elizabeth, The sunrise hour also holds many secrets Secrets that only lovers know Secrets told without words Secrets that let love grow The moment that the sun meets the sky Lights the face of the one that I love Her face glows like the angels above And it is in this moment that I know true love Sven ------------------ That which gives light must endure burning --Victor Frankl |

Elizabeth, my friend - This is such a pretty grouping of thoughts. Each thought lays around the palette, waiting for the artist to but touch her brush into the edges ... to paint the hedge with a touch of sunlight. Very, very nice ... early morning ~dove~. ------------------ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Elizabeth, Your simplicity is the key. That turns the lock of my mind. For every time I read your poems. It sheds a light that purblinds. Exquisite. |

At every lovely sunset's edge When silence fills the air I simply close my eyes once more To see you standing there The way you looked so long ago When you were here with me In day's fading shadow light It's only you I see So let the daylight fade to dusk Let day succumb to night If only for this one brief moment I drown in your sweet light The sun will fade, Today will end Tomorrow will come fast But let me live just one more night Buried in our past I will face the brand new day I'll let you go tomorrow But tonight, as golden sunset nears Be with me in my sorrow Elizabeth, as always, I find you inspirational Ruth ------------------ "When you come to the edge of the light which is all you know. And are about to step off into the darkness that is unknown...Faith is knowing one of two things will happen...there will be something to stand on...or you will learn how to fly." -Unknown [This message has been edited by hoot_owl_rn (edited 12-02-1999).] |

I don't think I can respond with such splendid color and verse as the rest but this poem was wonderful. |

Martie, Yeah, you gotta watch out when the responses are so much better than the original poem. Is't that beautiful? Thanks for your comments. Glad you enjoyed the poem, my female friend Liz |
