It was Christmas time again,
The end of another year,
Balladeer told his children;
"Soon Santa will be here."

He wanted to surprise the kids,
And dress up like Santa Claus,
But the Santa outfit wouldn't fit,
It was way too small.

So he called his buddy Robert,
A poet pal so dear,
And asked him for a favor,
To be Santa Claus this year.

Robert said no problem,
"For you I'll "Ho Ho Ho,
I'll be there on Christmas Eve,
And put on quite a show."

All went well when Robert came,
Till the kids told what they saw,
"Mom there's something really strange,
Daddy's kissing Santa Claus!"

For just which bunny to send
I convinced him at no cost
To include a friend
So Deer still has one waiting
At the top of the stairs
She's in his Christmas stocking
To relieve his cares.
