A Moment's Time

Little girl in thralls of play
Unaware the time of day
Her heart immersed in nursery rhyme
That sings within a moment's time

Giddy schoolgirl with a friend
Looks not toward the coming bend
Her spirit follows wind blown chime
And dances in the moment's time

Young lady with the golden hair
Taking flight at moment's dare
No slight concern or thought in mind
Beyond a single moment's time

Then love awakes the tender heart
And holds her close in moonless dark
The hearts so young and love sublime
Don't beat beyond the moment's time

The spirit walks a chosen path
Without concern for aftermath
A whimsome soul within its prime
Thinks not beyond a moment's time

A mother laden with her young
With faded dreams her heart has sung
No time to breath a weary sigh
Each chore is done in moment's time

Now in the middle of the night
With only lamp to shed a light
She writes her poetry in rhyme
And lives within the moment's time

In the moments
in your mind,
you touched
a chord
within mine.

How breathtakingly
beautiful
I find your rhyme ...
never losing sight
of the
moments in time.

Spirits walking
through your heart,
leave footprints
to lead others
to just who you are.

Marge, Do you ever sleep? You were here when I went to bed

Your response was beautiful Thank you
Had to be from a Cherokee spirit who writes of maidens
Love ya
Elizabeth

I don't have time to sleep.
It robs me of my waking.
Well, if you think about it ...
sometimes it just seems
that even though I'm sleeping
I still write in my dreams.
Good morning, dear friend.

Elizabeth,

This moment in time that I read your words
Was like the song of that lost bird

My life is lived for the moment in time
That I shall have her heart, and she mine.

But for now, my heart is here in my world
But I still long for that lost little girl.

She is a woman now, the time is not her own
But with love and luck, our love will grow.

Sven

Sven,
What beckoned heart could so induce
So many tears your heart does find
This is not a meeting place for hearts
But is a meeting place for minds
If throbbing heartstrings is your goal
You'd better look within your soul
For heart and soul upon the plate
Are things that you can't separate
And mind is driven by the soul
So state your reason and your goal
A game of hearts we do not play
A loving spirit - any day
Lets get on with poetry
And let such notions drift to sea
Thanks for reading and commenting
Elizabeth

Dear Sven,
Out of character, out of line
I've gone way out of bounds this time
Please excuse my little verse
Just a little bit too terse
I may have miscontrued your rhyme
So please forgive me just this time
I welcome you to the poets page
And will your poetry engage
So please may we be friends in rhyme
And passionate poet's til end of time
Accept my hand and warm embrace
And put my manners in their place
Forgive me
Elizabeth

I hate to interrupt this rhyme
Thoughts moving in syncopated time,
But simply need this time to say
You have brightened up my day.
You may now continue with your word,
Now that my opinions been heard.

Within that moment, I suppose it's the only place to be! Wonderful poem, Elizabeth!
