Pimpernel If I, were handsome fair and tall And had a brain of worthy call, I'd turn a type of pimpernel, A pleasant sort of ne'er do well. Perplex my peers by played conceive, Confound expound and make believe, I'd set them smiling end to end, Announcing I am foe and friend. I'd weigh each statement on a scale, Even, it is a fairy tale, Pronounce it true or untrue, Something even you could do? Like a politician that cries, In a statement of great surmise, That issues could be or not be, All depending on how you see? There is no wait on a season, All is done in abstract reason, The wish to savor life sweet charm, By doing it without alarm. It's the I, that is the tallyman, Playing the villain or the shaman. A game of the Ids transitory Of the power of love and glory. If I were handsome fair and tall And had a brain of worthy call. |
