THE MOON MAN Quickly, quietly slipping through the sand Staying in the shadows Hiding from the man The Moon Man is watching He sees me everywhere He sees me slinking back to darkness Sinking in despair. Overhead he's watching And judging every turn And in the night I'm wondering ... Will I ever learn? I'm sneaking and snaking My way from east to west Wondering which direction Really is the best I'm crawling & creeping Along a twisted path I'm feeling so afraid I fear the Moon Man's wrath. I hope that he can't see me But he knows just where I am And so I slither quietly, Skulking close to land. The Moon Man waits so patiently Knowing I'll arrive And knowing in the darkness How much I moan & writhe. The Moon Man is omnipotent To him there's no unknown. I only know what it's like to live In the darkness all alone. Hiding in the shadows Hiding in the sand Hiding from humanity (the mighty Moon Man) ------ by Kay Simpson ------------------ |

Very well written. The Moon Man doesn't sound like someone I'd like to run into. ------------------ Nail to the mast her holy flag, Set every threadbare sail- And give her to the god of storms, The lightning and the gale! -Oliver Wendell Holmes |
