Started out young and free
Kinda figured it was meant to be
But stories change
Lives re-arrange...I know

Pictures of forgotton times
Memories from the past
Made mistakes and realize
It all went by too fast
Read the paper now and then
A familiar name or two
But what still seems like yesterday
Was the time I had with you

Lightning struck the same place twice
Once with fire, once with ice
Hold a hearing, state my plea
The evidence here will support me

When your river runs dry
And your sky falls down
You can't get off your merry go round
Didn't I say, I'm your man
When the hammer falls
And your luck runs out
Keep in mind without a doubt
Didn't I say, didn't I say.......

Great job Lostboy. I think we all know how life can change as days go on.

I tried to pick just one single line that I liked the most but I'd have to choose them all..

Smiles here but I guess the favourite one has to be:

"Lightning struck the same place twice
Once with fire, once with ice"

I know the feeling of lives changing, we change and grow, sometimes others don't go in the same direction we are going.
So many times I have reflected over a past love from high school, and I have seen his photo in the hometown paper when I visit there...We were young and free, but he was my first love.
I liked the poem! It spoke to my soul!

Exquisite descriptives lostboy. I also enjoyed the fire and ice line. Yes we all do change and rearrange. We always will. The key is to find the one who will go through it with us through good or bad, happy or sad.
That's love my friend.
(at least my idea of love)

I found this lovely
