of creaming sun small yet brimful in remembered memory tasted dreams hot icecream beneath a tree greenly serene mesmerised by insect allegro nature composed no ugly scars no father-bitten bleed nothing to surrender the bliss of childhood the skill of forgetting bruises, rage and screams that only comes in adult eyes simple sensate joys protect the meek and childly mild defend the vision of innocence as bruises fade to rest in a mind sweltering in the heat of growing youth the summers of loss tragedy heard whispered by complacency’s compositions icecream comforts not at all in youth-lost living where is liberty in abused memory? (no freedom just empty summer heat and remembrance) sweet lost innocence meaning no more than insect song swaying tree sheltering only fear time-caught in a frailed mind lost before it began hidden from any sunlit dreams KM 29.11.99 |

Severn - Hauntingly beautiful. Bruises do heal, my friend. Bless you for this message of courage for all. ------------------ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

There is no greater cruel offense Than to reap a child's innocence Undue command, by hand or word Undeserving utterance heard To degrade a child is to rape a soul It rapes us all, the spirit's whole This one brought tears Elizabeth |

Marge - that you see it that way is really encouraging. Thank you. Elizabeth - Yes indeed. Children are truly fragile and so many adults exploit that. Nan & Pepper - thanks. Sy - Glad you like! Martie - pulled from the depths of me I'll agree. Thankyou, my friend. 'deer - glad it got you where I wanted it to - in the heart. |

Powerful, emotional, brilliant...just a few of the adjectives that come to mind. Your talent is amazing. I'll bet you could make stones weep and laugh, Severn! ------------------ It's not the love you fear, but the fall from the height~Edwin McCain |

Severn-this is so touching. Children are so vulnerable. The cost some pay is too high. It is a tragedy. They are bruised for life. Well done piece, Severn. ------------------ Denise |

Caroline - you always make me smile, and you think I give YOU an ego boost?! Thankyou my friend. Oops - didn't catch you in time Denise! Thankyou, thankyou. Children are so incredibly vulnerable, yes. They need such nurturing. [This message has been edited by Severn (edited 11-29-1999).] |

Innocence... often thought upon that word...perhaps even recently bagan to adjust my viewpoints on it. A master stroke here K. Not surprising, but well done nevertheless. |

sea - hugs. Mike - well, you're welcome but thankyou! hoot - hippy happy to you sister of overcoming. Chris - but what is innocence or even surprise to those with jaded, hurt minds? How are you doing? And thanks for the reply. [This message has been edited by Severn (edited 12-02-1999).] |
