In green of greenest greenery did stage a fiendish scene
where blended with the scenery and hid from eyes quite keen
most fine in finest finery of natures' emerald cloak
did ponder certain ponderings and having pondered, spoke

Of ballads and one Balladeer, a balladeering sort
who sported such a sporting beard most oft' got used for sport
by poets most poetically inclined to write such poems
who focused on this focal point and not his gleaming dome

Which gleamed with an unearthly light, they say it gleams there still
'neath ball-cap worn as ball-caps are, with gleam reducing bill
that having much reduced said gleam is worn as I've deduced
concealing what one might conceal from one concealed moose

and thence to say in closing where one is supposed to close
it's rumored that such rumors often hit it on the nose.

With worthy thought I read unworthy words about my worth,
Poetic prattle from a poet renegade since birth.
There's no dome in my domicile that shines when touched by light
Nor beard defacing facial features God designed so right.

I understand how understudies underestimate
And lessen teacher's lessons they can not themselves create.
The narrow-minded I don't mind. I'm mindful of their needs
To feel their feelings must be felt by everyone who reads.

I'll count jokes of my countenance like this encounter here
As jealousy and zealous tries to imitate the 'deer.

Pete said it well. You are the MAN, moose. fantasic work, as always.

Balladeer,
Touche'. And I sir, credit you for crediting me with the accreditation of creating an accredited work of nonsense in such a nonsensical manner as to not offend your senses nor your sense of fair play.

              stray cat
you took me in with love and affection,
knowing you don't like the reflection.
me being a cat, not a dog; as i creep...
my shadow moves across your wall.
at time  to time i,m a lazy sack, laying helplessly on your mat.
i scratch the furniture,
           mark your walls,
leaving my fur on the floors.
even thought i do the most weirdest thing,
you took care of me,
which made my heart sing.
so thanks for taking care of me after all...
knowing i'm one crazy cat,
         with tricks in my paws.

hope you like it. i wrote this poem since my sister always said i,m more like a cat than a human. mostly i love cats, she doesn't.

Ken,
By all means, feel free to post on any of my threads, however, you may want to consider open poetry where you are apt to get more feedback. I'm a bit of a recluse, by choice, which means you are limiting yourself to very few replies. Just a thought.
