The Eagle A Triolet By Paul Wilson The great eagle came swooping down From high above the mountain side Closer and closer to the ground The great eagle came swooping down To catch his prey from Puget sound That darts and weaves and tries to hide The great eagle came swooping down From high above the mountain side "To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you" |

You rarely see our Balladeer offer such raving reviews, Paul. I've got to say that he's right, of course. This is flawless, my friend - Your theme is wonderful. Your rhyme scheme and your repetitions are great. Your meter can be read a couple of ways, including but not limited to iambic tetrameter... I like this one lots...  |

Nan...You are so right. That reply from Balladeer knocked my socks off. Just that one word brilliant coming from him is more than I ever hoped for. I really appreciate you taking time to read and for your honest reply. I still don't know meter, but maybe someday this old man can learn a new trick or two.I need help with that part of my writing.
