Shades Of Me And You

You want to paint the world in shades of blue
but first you must see past the dark of night.
Go forth and seek to find the light of day.

You won’t because you fear the day’s new start.
You need to try to give your life a chance.
Do not step back into the dark of night.

Allow the skies of blue to brighten life.
I speak to you in tones of heart and soul.
If you will listen closely you will hear.

Your hand I hold in cherished bond of two.
Let’s paint our world in shades of me and you.

I know that you can 'read' me
but can you 'hear' "me"?

I loved the message in your poem and am very impressed with your blank verse. You did well to request this assignment. I struggle with meter and need the push to try.

Thanks everyone. I find the blank verse very hard to do!
Senachie, trust me it was no request but more a plea to learn this Iambics thing.
The teacher made it the assignment and we all followed through!

A worldly palette painted shades of blue
From ocean tides to distant sunlit skies
Is full of perfect hues for life's new start
No matter that the past holds darkened shades

There's a musical lilt to this iambic stuff.
Your poem gives that out. Love the images.
