I apologize, my friends, for being so unavailable in the past couple of weeks. I promise to read each and every one of your wonderful villanelles in the next couple of days.

I've had not only a houseful of Passionate guests, but a personal crisis to endure as well... But that crisis was the impetus for my first public reading - of this work..

We Held Your Hand

We hearkened to resounds of heaven’s whispering
Your name, beheld in countenance of sovereign Grace.
We held your hand until we heard the angels sing

In harmonies melodic as the spawn of spring,
Extolling visions of a hallowed time and place.
We hearkened to resounds of heaven’s whispering

A song so sweet, our yearning hearts envisioning
Your dancing blithefully about celestial space.
We held your hand until we heard the angels sing

Songs of release from burdens earthly trek may bring,
Our visions with the stars to see your joyous face.
We hearkened to resounds of heaven’s whispering.

Bequeathing now our hold to end all suffering,
For mortal days so surely wrought in steadfast pace.
We held your hand until we heard the angels sing

One hand in ours, one touched upon seraphic wing,
Our grasp released to bind ethereal embrace.
We hearkened to resounds of heaven’s whispering;
We held your hand until we heard the angels sing.

Nan what a beautiful tribute to your Dad, and you know I feel that I know him having spent time with you in your Dad's home and at the hospital with you, your sister and brother at a very intimate time.  I am smiling as I remember you and I sleeping with the dog in his bed, and you sharing memories.  Live in those Nan, for there is love and healing in them. I sorrow at your loss,
What a wonderful tribute,
I’m sure angels are singing.

Nan,
there are times when words just seem to lack, even for a poet who breaths by them. These are such times... I am sorry for your loss, my thoughts are with you and your family.
Heart-hugs gentle poetess

Nan,
At another time, I know I'll appreciate your poem for its perfection... but right now, my eyes are blurred by the love that penned such lovely words. My heart goes out to you and your family... you have my deepest sympathy and my prayers that your memories will bring you comfort and strength.
I'm so sorry, dear lady....

Nan,

You have my deepest sympathy for your loss. And you have written a wonderful tribute to your father. I do understand your loss because I held my mother as she slipped away a couple of years ago and now watch my father in his final days.

A wise friend told me "No matter how old we are, we are never quite prepared to become an orphan."

Take your time to recover for your life dear lady.

Nan,
What a handsome man and an incredible tribute. I don't know how you managed the reading, but what an honor. Oh the grief...I can only imagine. I am so sorry for your loss. Faith and courage to you.
Peace, Larry C

Dear Nan
What a wondrous heart you posess
What a beautiful gift God has bestowed to you in the splendors of your pen, and to us who read yoour writings
THis is an equisite tribute to your father and to poetry
Your strength of character was demonstrated many times during oour poet's week together, as you listened to our personal grievances at times, while you, in turn were grieving the loss of your father, and still you gave of yourself in full measure. Thank you for being the person you are, one to whom we can all look up to.
THis poem is as beautiful as you are
I extend again my deepest sympathies and the warmth of a long embrace
Love you
Liz

Dear Nan, how beautiful these words are, as is your whole tribute to your father.
I've lost mine some 20 years ago and still there are times I miss him terrible.

Hugs to you dear friend

What a gentle and passionate tribute to your father. He shall stay forever in your heart's memory, though the physical body is elsewhere. It must have been incredibly difficult to be confronted with this family sadness at the same time as the Passions poets visit. You are one amazingly strong  lady. I have a feeling your father had something to do with your level of strength and courage. An armful of hugs to you, Kacy.

Hello Nan

I'm so sorry for your loss but you have written such a wonderful tribute to your much loved father.  I could so relate to how you felt as I was in the same situation nearly three years ago and the memories came flooding back when I read your words.

Take care.....Sue
