Here lies old Dan Grainger who was stranger than his wife He tried once too oft' to change her and paid dearly with his life 'neath this stone lies Richard Small who was a real gambling man took a chance and bet it all Rick should have had a back-up plan In lasting memory of Charlotte B. Kidd beloved wife of husband John forgot whose boots 'neath bed were hid they wouldn't fit when John tried them on Thomas Morley loved his whiskey " Frisky " was his favorite mule Tom got drunk and feelin' frisky Mule done killed old Tom that fool |

Ok , I know I bent the rules most heinously , ( using the wrong rhyme scheme and all ), but hey , I was running out of time and thought that possibly some real clerihews had been used in this way before . Doc |

Wait, wait, how were the rules broke? Seems to me that Doc got the joke! As a person's name in rhyme took up all Doc's space and time! Isn't that what a clerihew is really supposed to do? |

Dr. Moose was very merry Reading stones in cemetaries Til a clarihew of fame Was etched in stone with Moose's name No longer did the Dr laugh At other people's epitaphs This clarihew is getting grave My morbid wit I'll have to save I got a good laugh Thank you, Dr. Liz |

Titia , Many thanks , some are not so forgiving as you . I seem to draw more arrows than slings , though it might be-hoove me to not to paint myself as a target . Doc Marge , I thought I heard someone laughing , hope the " Teach " don't throw us both out for disrupting her class . Doc Nan , Hey " Teach " ! What are you doing here ? I thought you were off swatting at flies somewhere ? Doc Lady in White , Well that's what I thought , but around here you never know . There are some real sticklers who just might take umbrance with one who plays fast and loose with these things . Thanks , Doc Elizabeth , More ! Give me more ! Well phrased . To the point , and now I'm dying of curiousity . Thanks , Doc |
