Her eyes they shone as limpid pools alas but not for me (the low tide of her breath could kill , all the fish in the sea ) Her flaxen hair be-stilled my heart , she wore it as a crown ( but so did Bozo after all and he was just a clown ! ) The alibaster of her skin , her smile as white as pearls ( be-lies it's texture , just like bark , it's even fooled some squirrels ) The essence of her beauty surely gods must have distilled ( it's either that or they miss-placed a bucket of pig-swill ) Those wqho would say "A rose by name , must surely smell as sweet " (would plug their nose , or die in pain , if once they smelled her feet ) Her lithe yet supple form could cause a monk to break his vows (but don't forget that some of them already worship cows ) Now what you say could drive a man to write so childishly ? While only half of this was true , 'twas she rejected me ! |
