Wanna be a classic poet? Just sit down with pen and tablet. Let your metric feet go walkin' And your wingers do the flockin' Through your trusty Dictionaurus. Tell a story that won't bore us; Toss some end-rhyme in absurdly Using syntax that is wordly. Ev'ry single one can do it It's no big deal - Get write to it. Then a little luck quill do ya And don't let those critics fool ya.. Like great poets who precede us We'll be gone before we're famous. |

i love your poem. how true are your words. during her lifetime emily dickenson was simply a wannabe. i especially liked your clever line "then a little luck quill do you." is it too late for me to try my hand at a paradelle? would i have a time limit? you said that any meter or rhyme scheme is acceptable. but do they need to have a rhyme scheme or set meter? some of the ones your students have written don't, so i was wondering. sorry for asking so many question. |
