I decided to go for the iambic tetrameter and iambic trimeter, with the last words of the second and fourth lines rhyming. LOL Just one of the "rules" I found for ballads. The Ballad of Ceres Upon a day, a while ago A sweet Ceres was born A man named Ron created her He called her his "firstborn" Computer Techno Poetry Became their passion one To sleep they hardly ever go Not 'til all jobs are done At first she had some growing pains With master CD-Ron But quickly learned how to back-up And problems soon were gone She doesn't fish for compliments She rather has a worm A good wild race with "Trojan horse" She loves to make them squirm A cold, it doesn't bother her Ceres is virus proof Whatever virus does approach She finds them all a spoof From time to time she bytes a bit But that's just puberty She wants to lose her heart disk drive Feel software ecstasy To surf the world of cyberspace The world she most admires Linked to computers lost in space A Giga great desire To surf where none have surfed before Seek for the hackers nest And bug them in their secret home Would give her mem'ry rest But when time comes to do the job She's like a sorceress She's always there where she belongs She's just a sweet Ceres Munda |

Munda, I am travelling to your friendly Netherlands for the weekend... will come back and catch up on this one... there is still a lot to learn about ballads by the way and nice digging you did recently... regards, sudhir. |
