Yes, yes, just a reassurance that I'm not an overly bitter youth. And Why Does the Green Polar Bear Speak? They eat their mushy tator tots In a bowl full of Water from the sewer That they've Bathed In for the last six months While I wonder where all The famous people Like Jimmy Hoffa have gone to be buried. Then the people ask me why funky Is a word That they use When they light the Fires of their own Funeral pyre, And I respond that the battery of life is Nearly empty. But should I tell All the people searching for coins Under their communist couch That all the world is funky, knowing that only cool cats And daddy-O's like me can dig it? Or should I let the Green polar bear, in its toga of repression speak its Lies while all of the doughnuts are Eating the peace? I like too many things and get all confused and hung-up running from one falling star to another till i drop. This is the night, what it does to you. I had nothing to offer anybody except my own confusion. —Jack Kerouac |

Me like! Very nice. That's good that you're not bitter. ~Astraea "Sometimes stars can only be seen in darkness." "Sorrow's crown of sorrow is remembering happier things." |

I am pleased to meet you Ryan. I have to admit this is the first I have read of you. I am duely impressed. I enjoy reading poetry that makes me think and you have accomplished that with this piece. I found it both deep and amusing. I am also very glad that you are not bitter. ![]() |
