Okay, these aren't really poems, and I'm reluctant to post my work, but my good friend Singer1981 has urged me to, so I decided to heed her advice. The first is a beginning to a short story I wrote... "My hand reached forward to steady myself on your shoulder - but you were not there. My hand grappled with an intangible void that lay where you once stood. And I fell. I fell from innocence. I fell from sanity. I fell from light." this is just something I wrote on the board in English today..... "I feel like I'm aimlessly grabbing at grains of sand that swirl about me in a cloud of effervescent pain. The more I try to grasp them, the more I try to contain them, the more they slip through my fingers into a dark oblivion of unknown. I stand in the eye of this storm silently flailing, with the blowing sand burning tears in my eyes, each sand encrusted drop making the pool of sorrows below me that much deeper ... " |
