Like the flies upon the glass Thirsty eyes are licking dust Of ancient verses Rusty words turn into gold Brushing off the silver mold As the time reverses Lights won’t fade into the dark Starting fire spark by spark Sparkling on the page And the pen begins to bleed Planting slowly seed by seed On the snowy range Harvest, lined up into rows, Quickly flourishes and grows Not awaiting spring Breaking calmly through the snow My emotion starts to flow Drowning in the ink |

Very well done Master. I have to bump this back up! Your rhyme scheme has me baffled though. You began rhyming the first, second. Then fourth, fifth. And third, sixth lines. Then your schemed changed. The third and the sixth lines do not rhyme in the last 2 stanzas. [This message has been edited by Marilyn (edited 11-23-1999).] |
