This is a poem about someone I love who does not love me in return. We use to date and we had a really close relationship. He was my bestfriend and my love. But does not feel the same way. He told me this three days ago. So love the one you are with now and never give up on love. Just be thankful for what you have and not just want more. Because I played with the devil and what I got in return was heartache. Why Can't You See My heart tries to stop loving you How hard the task may be My mind is willing But my heart is not Why can I not see Your love is no longer there That you are better off with someone else But I don't want the pain to hit me quite yet So I lie to myself and close my eyes So I don't have to deal with life What I would give to be yours For your heart to love me once more To have the happiness I once had To hold my head up again To be in your arms To look in your eyes To be so close without closing my eyes So what I have left are just the dreams that you and I made That one day we would be together in Maine So how we looked so far ahead and not for what was now Our love failed the test and we have only less then what we began with. |
