The 7 Hills

The Seventh Hill once in time
Held the Empire that was mine

Yet the hills are sadder now
There is a furrow in my brow
for years ago this very day
on this mountain did we stay
Lonely now the hill I climb
Seems the lowest so in time
with my emotion in the fray
with memories of a simpler day
where we were one in place and time
but now stand only in my rhyme

(another kind of wierd one of mine, im associating the roman empire with a lost love, as the empire grew to enormous size form 7 hills, so did my love, and now years later the same hill seems dreary, alive only in my own memory. the hill has seen the range of my life and now offers nothing but melancholy memory)
