*Another one of my translations from Russian. This is a poem by A. Pushkin.

Why premature exasperation
Feed with the omnius belief,
And thus, the certain separation
Await with timidy and grief?
It’s not that long until dejection!
In calmness of the barren fields,
You will bring forth the recollection
Of days you’ve lost throughout the years.
Misfortunate! then, you’ll be ready,
With price of death to pay the debts,
To buy a word of revered lady, --
The light resounding of her steps.

Heh, I like it, hell, I've liked all your translations that I've managed to read, but, I can't for the life of me figure out what Pushkin is writing about in this poem.

"Sa souvraya niende missian ye." \
I am lost in my own mind.

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice
From what I've tasted of desire,
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great,
And would suffice.

Ok Dragon, here's my explanation...

First four lines, he's trying to say why think and grieve about something that hasn't yet occurred (in this case its separation with a loved one). Then he basically portrays a man who feels bad about losing someone in the past, so much so that he would be willing to die just to hear the woman (that he loved and lost) speak and to see her walk.

Thank you for repsonding.

Lizzie, HUGS to you
