This is my very first poem that I have ever written. I didn't even know that I still had it until I stumbled across it about 2 minutes ago. Here it is.

~AF~

Have you ever wondered,
What the world would look like.
If you were miles and miles away,
A dove on an enchanting ride,
Floating far over the ocean.
To be a star in the biggest business,
With glamour and fame all in your hands.
But all these things will never be for you,
Seeing the same four walls and barely staying alive,
Is all that matters.
Your only friend is your candle light,
That burns and flickers so bright.
Butter and bread are almost as bad,
As the daily beatings that swell your head.
How much you would wish to be free.

Neat first poem! How old were you when you wrote it?

Love and hugs,
Lizzie.

The beauty of our early works is we can look back and see how far we have come. We can also take the theme of the poem and create a poem with more strength. You have a very important theme in this piece and crafting this into something powerful could help many people.

Thanks for sharing.
