Dark things - trying to steal you, love, I cried for nights to God above. Our lives and love was perfect together, Why did all of this even come up? A test, I guess, I do not know, confusion and hurt continues to grow. Begging help from anyone near, but grabbing at air with nothing to show. Courage and truth growing inside, gave be the strength to put worries aside. Now worries have died, love born anew, Hold me tight, in your warmth tonight. |

Thank you for your replies! I made the rhyme and rhythm strange on purpose, just because that was how it started to come out, so I stuck with it! I worked on this one forever after I got the first draft, trying to make it perfect... so if anyone sees anything that could use fixing, give a yell and I'll see what I can do! Just as some background, this poem was written when my fiance was planning on joining the Marines. The recruiter reminded me of Satan incarnate and I was terrified to speak my mind because I loved him (Tony, not the devil-man!) so much I wanted him to make the decision based completely upon what HE needed. THAT nearly screwed life up something terrible!! And thank goodness a mutual friend made me realize that this was going to affect both of our lives, so it was not selfish to say what I felt. When I finally said it, (it all came FLOODING out!) everything was back to normal in a matter of minutes... it was unreal. Moral of the story is: No matter how much you think it's gonna hurt to tell the truth and speak your mind, do it! It'll hurt a whole lot less if you do it now than if you wait. Belive me... the thought of us being on a military base for years in God-knows-where is enough to make me say what I feel now! (BTW... I have absolutely NOTHING against the military!!! I am very proud of a number of family members who have served their country well.) April |

I'm so sorry guys!!! I just posted under my friend's name! She was the last to use this computer and it left her name on the screen and I didn't even notice it! Oops!! So all of that last post was really April, not Lily! Sorry about that, once again!!! April |
