Close to the door he paused to stand as he took his class ring off her hand all who were watching did not speak as a silent tear ran down his cheek and through his mind the memories ran of the moments they walked and laughed in the sand but now her eyes were so terrible cold for he would never again have her to hold they watched in silence as he bent near and whispered the words...... "I LOVE YOU" in her ear he touched her face and started to cry as he put on his ring and wanted to die and just then the wind began to blow as they lowered her casket into the snow.... this is what happens to man alive when friends let friends drink and drive. †RIP†RIP†RIP†RIP†RIP†RIP†RIP†RIP†RIP†RIP† Shannie "Shan" Bristin I wrote this poem for my friend Steve who just recently lost his girlfriend to a hit and run. And of course they cought the guy who did it because he ran into another car and didn't that other person didn't make it either. He was drunk of course. So my friends, Steve, and family and friends of Shannie and to suffer. Once you lose someone to a drunk driver you life is never the same. We started using what people call a AA meeting in our town. I help with the program and fundraiser. One night the guy that ran into Shannie showed up, I know that he killed my best friend but I walked up to him and said nice to have you, nice of you to have the courage to admit tha tyou have a problem. Just remember God loves you and I do TOO! ~¤Always look to the sunrise and you'll never see the shadows¤~Anne Frank |
