There was a girl, No older than 14. Only ever thinking about, What a horrid day had been. She wanted to come home, To a calm and peaceful place. But when she opened up the door, Twas thrown back in her face. She tried to tell someone, About the dreadful day. But no one wanted to hear, What she had to say. So she snuck into the kitchen, And took a butchers knife. She finally came to a conculsion, To end her youthful life. Slowly she began to slice, Her tiny little arm. Realising what she was doing, She stopped it in alarm. The flow of tears came, And they ran down her cheek. Why oh why she wondered, Was her life so very bleak. Finally after a while, The tears came to an end. What she needed right now, Was just a simple friend. Her brother came into the room, And saw her sitting there. He hugged her and whispered, You know I'll always care. Unfortunalty this poem has the element of truth in it. I have had to deal with this for sometime and writing it was the best way to let the demons go. If it is too morbid I will take it off. |

i really like this poem, the best part was the second stanza, though i am very sorry that you have had to deal with those things, this poem shows what it takes to stop someone from doing the extream, just to have someone who cares, the words spoke to me sorta, i've not had quiet those experiences but the feeling of the poem is all to real, very nicely done NEW POETRY FORUM NOW OPEN "If there is anything the nonconformist hates worse than a conformist it's another nonconformist who doesn't conform to the prevailing standards of nonconformity." this poem is so real, I hope you work through all your problems and never give up hope. Whether or not you know it, theres always someone who cares. Love isn't a miracle in life, the miracle of life is love. |

This was a very good poem. I'm sorry that it has to come from those feelings. Like Smore said, jsut remember, there's always someone out there who cares. If you ever need to talk, please, email me! I myself have had to deal with this, and I've helped some of my friends as well! ![]() ~Sarah |
