Just Another Autumn? |

It seemed to be just another Autumn, Dying bits of Summer, the gutters caught'em-- In varying hues of vintage collage, Which here and there would come to lodge. Another task to be added to my list, Of things needed done,(Not the thinks I wished)! Out in the brisk and windy old yard, To corral and burn Nature's Discards. To one whose aged eyes had witnessed so many, Had my senses so dulled to Nature's Litany-- Blinding me to the grandeur of it all, The possible Treasures of this present Fall? My chores weren't so num'rous, so oft'I stayed inside, Why so much resistance, why seek to hide? God gave the Strength, and showed the need, To mix with Creation, thus the Call I'd heed! And then as I imbibed the sight, the sounds, the savor, I also acknowledged the truth of this Favor-- It's how I take it--be it Burden or Blessing of Fall, When taken in fullness, it's Special after all! |

It is important not to take anything for granted - even the seasons! I like this - and welcome. |

Ah, Autum, never a thing to be taken for granted. I drive home every morning to spectatular rolling hills of multicolored leaves and thank God for Pennsylvania in the fall |
