Title: Before My Candle Goes Out Before my candle goes out I want no weeping or wailing. Nor prayers which are delaying the Glorious exit that is waiting. My eyes have seen a vision. My time is at it’s conclusion. For eternity was seen beyond. In front of me a timeless song. I want but the touch of a hand. The warmth of a friend, Who understands. Before my candle goes out The cards and flowers I no longer need. I’m ready to take this flight. I’m ready to be freed. It matters not my age. I’m in the last chapter. Turning my last page. Don’t stand there in a daze. Usher me in with His praise. Let Him take pleasure in my death, While there’s still little of me left. He is blowing my candle out. (end of poem) |

A very interesting poem.... I can say that I agree with your statement of not wanting your last days and hours full of prayers that fill the hours until the inevitable... I honestly just want to have a bit of happiness in my last hours. ------------------ "Despite all my rage, I am still just a rat in a cage." -Billy Corgan- |
