“Goin’ down the Road” Pork and beans, and coffee Front seat motel bed... Driving hard since Tulsa, With no relief ahead. I ride tonight in Vegas- From there it’s Santa Fe- Seems nothing on my schedule Is ever “on the way”. Chorus: I guess that’s why they call this life “Going down the road”- For every flashy ride I make- There’s three times I get throwed. Sixty thousand miles last year- A sleepin’ as I drove- I guess that’s why they call this life “Goin’ down the road”. I don’t see much of wife or kids- And things aren’t going good, I never make their birthdays... The way I know I should... I forgot our anniversary- And, oh, the fit she throwed- I fear some day I’ll see her- As she's “Goin’ down the road”. |

Life and things we do often get in the way of more important things, dare I say...but knowing what should be done, and trying even harder to do them can only make things better. Good message in this... ------------------ ~*~ Time erases and rewrites all the lines. What remains is the poetry! ~*~ |
