I'm caught twixt Toe and Balladeer,
I'm confused about where I'm at.
Maybe I shouldn't have come in here?

I'm constantly vilified by that old Toerag,
(His boot's permanently fixed in my rear).
And Suthern follows up to help him brag.

Balladeer writes more subtlely clear,
(I suspect he's a lover of cats).
And, hence I've found I must live in fear.

Iloveit shamelessly tips her hat,
For the mean things I so often hear,
From that ne'er do well scalawag.

Look at my life, so helplessly drear,
Each day seems to slothfully drag,
Because I'm the target of Toe and ‘Deer.

They take their shots, I'm often bagged,
They revel in this sport, they appear
To have more fun as my spirit's dragged
Through the mud that's my life in here.

ta daaaa - and I really don't feel this way - I just needed something to write about. I love 'em both.

And they love you! LOL. And we all enjoy your poetic potshots... I mean... love fest! LOL (And by the way... I follow Toerag because I think heaven can't possibly be a finer sight for these eyes to feast upon... he usually "gets" you so good he doesn't need any help bragging! LOL)

Belle

And that's why I can never send you my peekshure. You'd dump that old broken down college professor so fast he'd think he had leprosy (sorry Toe, I knbow I promised not to tell Belle about your localized case of decaying flesh. Yanno, though, it WAS your idea to do a panty raid at the Leper Colony).

Hilarious ... with a title like that, how could I not read it?

Let's hear it for the "evil ones" and their diabolical crusade!!

Ummmm... Sailor, I hate to point out that your memory is as useless as the rest of you... but you HAVE sent me a peekshure or two of you... and I still prefer that gorgeous professor Toerag! *G* Which... considering lil Lor's preferences, is probably good for my continued health! LOL

Awww, LongJohn. We never rag on anyone we don't care about so you can see we must love you to death!!!!! It would be a poorer place without you, for sure, but, if you insist on leavin', can Lorelei stay?

Well, I've got pictures of both of you and you're fine specimens indeed. Ain't got one of Suthern 'cause she won't give me one and ain't got one of Toe, but I look at hundreds of roaches every day and how much difference can there be?

Great poem....but no cigar on the villanelle part.

Thank you one and all -

'Deer - how did I miss on the villanelle? Five verses of three lines each, a sixth verse of four lines, and only two rhymes. Are there some restrictions on the meter?

We just did a class on villanelle Sailor. The last two lines in your quatrain are to be repeated through the poem. Nice work all the same but not a villanelle. I love reading the ummmm battle of wits? ego? etc. You gentlemen never fail to amaze me with your talents.
