I caught the Autumn like a wicked cold The morning breeze, like a contagious sneeze Blew through the city, time came to a halt To watch the dance of everlasting leaves Here live the poets, in the passion of September Here they are born and here they shall remain And so shall I, as long as I’m remembered And once forgotten, I’ll resurrect again ------------------ I fell in love and kept on falling |

Beautiful poem. I unfortunately missed out on the beauty of september. I'll have to try to catch a bit of october while its left. ------------------ "Despite all my rage, I am still just a rat in a cage." -Billy Corgan- |

This painted a picture of auburn and gold, with just enough of a chill to make it authentic. Very well done ... Nocht ------------------ "Nunc lento sonitu dicunt, morierus" (Now as I hear this bell tolling softly for another, it says to me, "Thou must die.") |

I do apologise, I have been informed that I should read this by ICQ and having read it would like to say I’m sorry I missed it. I have read it four times (in order that I understand and appreciate it fully) and found it very professional and pronoun, in fact I found it your best by far. Please, Please, write more of this ilk! |

Thanks Nochtdrace and Caroline! UK Hero, I'm glad you liked it! The idea for this one came from a quote of a great poet. Pushkin once wrote: "I will not wholy die, my soul in sacred lyre Will outlive my dust and will escape decay And in the moonlit sphere my glory will not tire As long as poets still remain" I'm fascinated with the idea that classic poets could remain alive through us and come back to us just like the season of fall. |
