The strengths I gain in life increase A lesson learned at every turn In such I find a sense of peace Once married to a man caprice Another’s kiss he soon did yearn The strengths I gain in life increase My children two are sweet surcease Each day they chase away concern In such I find a sense of peace Disease might mark my life’s decease The morrow is the day I learn The strengths I gain in life increase And when collectors’ calls decrease My life will take an upward turn In such I find a sense of peace Though pain and strife will never cease And often cause my heart to burn The strengths I gain in life increase In such I find a sense of peace [This message has been edited by Satiate (edited 10-14-1999).] |

Your villanelle likes me much my friend, 'tis a wondrous feat indeed, in form as well as content. ------------------ Nothing is worse than sorrow, except perhaps disdain. I'll be myself tomorrow, tonight I'll feel the pain. DreamEvil© |

I loved this poem. It is very elegantly stated ------------------ "Despite all my rage, I am still just a rat in a cage." -Billy Corgan- |

You did take this in a direction that I hadn't anticipated - and brought your theme together nicely - A fine job, my friend... |

Very wise words spoken here, Satiate. I myself was just glad we found strength to finish the villanelles. Your words are strong and your villanelle was completed nicely. Good job. ------------------ Michael Anderson When God puts a tear in your eye, He puts a rainbow in your heart. |

BRAVO! Perhaps someday I will find the patience and discipline to attempt one of these. My hats off to all of you who succeeded! ------------------ Denise |

Glad to see that Emily could escape John's lumberjack gruffness enough to put this one together. Alicat the twitterpated satiated kilted kitty |
