A Chapter of Love Your love to me-- a portal It moves me when you’re close, When lost, --It brought you closer. . . . O’ how I cried Louder More prolific Then any call at Jericho, No biblical chant Neither wail nor sorrow A plea! A request to stand And open wide for me, And of what, to whom do I cry! Do I compare? Do I dare to speak of reasons for loving, then, In my own way... I will try. . . . You are so forgiving- To one who knows so little Of love, And loving, Each day a new way Teach me, preach to me if able For I wish to learn; In my life You have become a book Its pages you turn, Sometimes- - I take the initiative And with apprehension, I look! Every page a smile, within the lines A heart --Leave it open- So I may write, I’d start With one phrase! And no more would I pen --Save for a kiss. . . . Down, down I fell Further still A self- imposed self-righteous well, Deeper still did you fall, to expose the reasons The anguish and sorrow My legions of despair, Yet, with calls of sanctuary And arms of compassion I found you waiting there. At times when deaf to all Not knowing Un-showing to romance and it’s melodious call You sang, O’- - and how you played, With charm and tender light it rang And within its beat your heart relayed A new sense to this desolate man, So stay Play and sing- That melodious call And I with praise An applause of emotion A golden ring… And now As before With the pages open Do I write some more, For together in hand We stand at the portal’s door And moved as I am, a few words I’ll say, --Move close --Closer still --Breathe, Breathe with me be with me And together as legends we’ll stay. I'm not clever enough to understand everything you managed to include in this poem but I can see and appreciate all of the work and thought that went into its creation and I applaud you, UK. |

I was impressed (no impressed is not the word) with the form of this. It just took me in. This may sound strange...but sometimes I look at the form of a poem and let my mind see how the words make a shape...kind of like a Rorschach ink blot test.
