The Courage To Bend by © Richard Budig 1996 May we begin again? He wrote neatly On the page. I really do love you, Said another sentence, And I always will. The reasons we parted Were not the reasons, Were they? he wrote. We both know truth Lies beyond the surface. The question is, Can we get down to it, Can we swallow pride, Can we admit wrongs, Can we begin again? He wrote these things Neatly on the page, Wondering all along Whether he had The courage to send, And she had The courage to mend, And both had The courage to bend. |
