Night greets the day with a mourning storm, a howling lament of wind. A massive thing without shape or form, breaking what it does not bend. In the eye's calm, a battle will rage, based upon a woman's love. Let's meet the players upon this stage, those whom we know nothing of. The Darkling beast is the first we'll meet, undoubtedly the villain. Raised upon hate, suckled on deceit, born and bred for killing. It's deadpan eyes are fish-belly white, filled by hollowness of soul. It's three foot teeth are a ghastly sight, each of them blacker than coal. The air around it shimmered as if reluctant to touch the thing. It's ponderous tongue was forced and stiff, thick and constantly drooling. It's massive maw is blacker than hate, lit with an inner red glow. Spittle trails at an dreadful rate, pooling around it below. The tentacular arms are fearsome, roiling as they whip about. The sound of it's heart is like a drum, it's thudding echoes, a shout. It's oozing skin the color of blood, glistened in the morning sun. The hue of it's torso more like mud, from a graveyard left undone. It's ponderous feet gouge the soft earth, while waiting for it's first war. The length of it's tail, matched by it's girth, lashed at the top of the tor. Slowly settling itself to the ground, it became perfectly still. It's murderous heart began to pound, enter the next on the bill. Dragon is such a beautiful sight, winging his way into view. Ebony scales sparkle in the light, bringing wonder all anew. His wild, crimson eyes, cut to the Beast, pondering this fearsome foe. With haughty disdain, to say the least, Dragon turned, as if to go. The horizon framed his noble form, a piece of night, brought to life. His silver-tipped claws flash in the storm, like moonlight does off a knife. His hot, glowing eyes spill crimson fire, as his head slowly turns 'round. Smoke curls from his nostrils, in his ire, to billow upon the ground. Spreading his wings out to their full span, flashes a green-tinted gold. Once again, Dragon, surveys his Land, His since he was young and bold. His blackened back matches the Beast's maw, rainbow hues slide under it. He broods on those defying his Law, nearly mad enough to spit. His regal horns settle into place, twitching tail, curling around. He'd rather die than lose in disgrace, be enslaved again, or bound. Dragon stands, impressively silent, like dead stone, and just as still. His anger cannot ever relent, enter the next on the bill. Dragon's consort, hopefully his bride, he held cradled in his arm. Gently he set her down at his side, wings shielding her from all harm. The virgin, a symbol of the Land, has curls spilling to her waist. Haughty pride marks her right to command, as she moves back without haste. She looks on Dragon with sparkling eyes, filled with the heat of desire. With gentle care, she undoes the ties, dropping her gown in the mire. The alabaster white of her skin, glows pale, in the morning light. Ruby lips part, as she dwells on sin, Dragon brings her such delight. Golden tresses flow out behind her, her green eyes seem out of place, surrounded by an aura of myrrh, a mystery in her face. The wind teased about her nakedness, as she lets it drink it's fill. Dragon gives her a final caress, enter the next on the bill. To this knight, we must give his just due, a fearsome man, full of pride. He wears chain-mail armor, gauntlets too, a mighty blade at his side. In his heart, he is truly craven, cowardice, he can't deny. Into his soul, it's deeply graven, he accepts this with a sigh. Though minor is the part he will play, excitement, he will instill. Though content to continue, I say, he is the last on the bill. ©1999 DreamEvil ------------------ Shall I indulge in flights of fancy hampered by clipped wings? DreamEvil© |

I don't know where I was or what I was doing when you first posted this story. I am glad that I felt some unknown force pulling me to page 10 of the forum. |
