I wander in the dark expanse of dreams, Led only by my heart's familiar beat -- Reality unraveled at the seams, And curled in gentle mists about my feet. Led only by my heart's familiar beat, An echo in the silence so profound -- And curled in gentle mists about my feet, The silken skeins of Fate enshroud the ground. An echo in the silence so profound: A heart that beats in cadence to my own; The silken skeins of Fate enshroud the ground, Along the mystic path to the unknown. A heart that beats in cadence to my own, Through swirling mist and soundless darkness, calls -- Along the mystic path to the unknown With hidden purpose do my footsteps fall. Through swirling mist and soundless darkness, calls A voice that whispers covenants of bliss; With hidden purpose do my footsteps fall, Now quickened by the promise of a kiss. A voice that whispers covenants of bliss -- My lonely heart now burns with longing fire -- Now quickened by the promise of a kiss, I'll find this soul -- else drown in my desire. My lonely heart now burns with longing fire; So close -- the sound rings louder in my ears -- I'll find this soul, else drown in my desire; At last, a distant shadow does appear! So close: the sound rings louder in my ears, A beacon in this strangely silent storm; At last, a distant shadow does appear: My heart's most treasured secrets, given form. A beacon in this strangely silent storm, His smile of welcome, offer of embrace: My heart's most treasured secrets given form, I lift a reverent hand to touch his face. His smile of welcome, offer of embrace -- As trembling lips unclose to breathe his name, I lift a reverent hand to touch his face -- Which fades into the mist from whence it came. As trembling lips unclose to breathe his name, A mourning cry for what had never been, Which fades into the mist from whence it came. I now must pay the penance for my sin; A mourning cry for what had never been; Upon the perfect calm I did intrude -- I now must pay the penance for my sin: Entrapped in self-inflicted solitude. Upon the perfect calm I did intrude -- Reality unraveled at the seams -- Entrapped in self-inflicted solitude, I wandered in the dark expanse of dreams. ------------------ You cannot choose the way of your death, but the path you choose will determine its own end. |

I cannot think of any words to say that would do justice to this poem. Please just accept a hearty "well done" and know the feeling behind it. |

This is simply beautiful.... ------------------ Thinking is just what a great many people think they are doing when they are merely rearranging their predjudices. |
