The Hardest Friend To Keep ... ~Marge Tindal~ 1999 She walked alone. Yet, I called her friend. She just didn't let anyone come in. She went her way through the years. I watched her as she cried. She was a friend I wanted, but she didn't let me inside. I stuck to her like crazy glue. It seemed she just needed a friend. What else could I do? She tried to walk her way alone. I could not let her go. I told her just how much I cared. How else could she possibly know? She smiled and offered her hand, said friend, you've always been here. No matter what I've been through, you always shed a tear. You may think I've done it alone. That's not exactly right. Many times just knowing you cared, carried me through the night. I am so very grateful for the love you've given me. I've needed just the kind of friend that you've tried to be. I hope it isn't too late to return the love to you, that you have given so unselfishly all my life through. I treasure your friendship. I hope you know it's true. Marge, it is because of people like you that people like me survive. I have always been the "hardest friend to keep" you've described me perfectly in this piece. And for me, I now have a friend like you that has loved me through it all. She has been my saviour, my angel Jane. It is people like you and Jane that has taught us the true meaning of the word love so I am saying thank you for being that kind of person. The world needs millions more of you. Coming from a world of abuse and pain it is very comforting to know that there are people( unfortunately very few) in this world that really do love unconditionally. I don't know you but I do thank you for being one of those people |

Lisann~ You know what, gal ? We just keep on loving you ... until you love yourself. That's what 'being there' really means to those of us who are the keepers of the hearts of others. We hold you, until you can see the wonderful qualities that we see. Reaching out and touching~ Thank you for finding something in this piece that touches you. I'd say that your friend, Jane ... is an angel that knew you were worth keeping !  AND ... while I'm in here ... This was posted on my first day of becoming a Passions poet ... Thank you, Watcher (who no longer posts here) and as ALWAYS ... our steady Denise ... who I neglected to thank in my flurry of excitement and overposting on my first visit. Almost two years later ... You are a good friend to have, Marge. To this day, I remember the times you spent emailing me back and forth, when my marriage had gone bad. And, had become almost unbearable. You were there to help me see the things, I just didn't want to believe. I will always remember that. You had really touched my heart. |
