LUCKY DEAD lucky dead no demons haunting sleep distorting peace nightmare invasion of repose lucky dead no waking sweats bedevil the flesh or visions flashing psychedelic horrors lucky dead no numbing agony of bone and muscle or phantom pain limbs detached lucky dead no fear or loathing reflected in eyes only grief for what might have been lucky dead @ 1999 P H Crochet |

Strong piece, hope you aren't feeling this way? Is death ever really lucky for anyone except terminally incredibly ill people? ------------------ Through poetry my heart and soul truly sing... ~Isis~ (Daughter of Mystery) |

Not the way I think at all. Just an reaction to something a friend said about the horrors of Vietnam that he and some of his buddies endured there and experienced after they returned home. Could those who died have really been the lucky ones, not to have had this suffering? |
