A thousand to one she’ll be gone by the time I pull in the driveway tonight. All I’ll have left is a house full of memories- And the things that we broke in the fight. A thousand to one that she meant it this morning When she shouted, “Color me gone”! And I ‘m not too sure that it wouldn’t be better, These heartaches have gone on too long. I’ve no one to blame but the guy in the mirror- After it’s all said and done- Too long I’ve neglected, our marriage, and wrecked it. The odds are a thousand to one. To many miles and days I’ve spent traveling- Leaving her there all alone- And two many hours I’ve sat and I’ve wasted, Even the times I was home. I’ve spent all day thinking, “I’m glad I quit drinking”- No changing the things I have done- I’m betting she’s gone, and I’m left all alone- The odds are a thousand to one. |

I like the way you tell a story, you need to send some of these out to someone who writes songs for country music |
