Forever My steps weary, a little slow, Much slower now then years ago. And the swell of memories weigh, Heavier now then yesterday. Each step strains a little more, More so now then years before. My back bends the weight of years, Heavier now with aging fears. There is no rest the weary road, Each of us with memories load. We cannot stop or beg release, For peace does not include our lease. We all must take our walk in time, This road, this route, this lonely climb. But if a love has stood your door, Then hold it tight forever more. Our faith is blind and made of heart And load and road are but a part, A part of being, a part of goal, Perhaps a process of the soul? But if by chance I am in error, Then love your love as if forever. |
