the deep chasm yawns wide before me, like a dark smile as I stand, face upturned, arms spread wide yearning to cast myself into it's depths into the rocky tombs below yet, as I throw myself from the crumbling ledge your love lifts me, and sets my soul free I fly I'm free I taste the wind I feel the rush of fear as the breeze grabs my breath as I fly, carried on the updrafts, far and away I feel the push of the air on my skin as I waft into the horizon learning to fly, with only your love as my wings ------------------ "With love's light wings did I o'er-perch these walls; for stony limits cannot hold love out; and what love can do that dares love attempt." Romeo & Juliet Act II |
