“Me, Myself, and I”

We start off out in Denver, Cowtown, the Astrodome,
Then drive two hundred miles to make our rides in San Antone.
Then on to Travis County, the Austin City Limits-
Two stops out in West Texas, then the rodeo in Dimmit.

In May we’ll ride in Redding, from there to Santa Fe-
A dozen wide spots in the road, which seldom ever pay...
June finds us up in Kansas, at the Garden City show-
July’s a real hot schedule and keeps us on the go..

In Calgary, the Stampede; will pay good if we win-
Another couple local shows, then ride in old Cheyenne,
It’s dust and mud, and sweating blood; broncs and brahma bulls
Try to second guess the brute, no matter what he pulls.

We hope it ends in Vegas, at the Cowboy Honor Roll-
To draw ten head of buckin’ stock, to try and win the gold.
I use the plural pronoun, and if you wonder why-
We are team inseparable: me, myself, and I.

I think I became a fan of yours with the first poem I read. I really enjoy your work.
